Visions That Don’t Come to Fruition

A seed with potential that never blossoms. A flower that dies too soon. How do we deal with projects and careers that end before we want them to?

My life has incorporated some successful creations, but most of them never saw the light of day. I’ve never found one path that I could follow, excel in, and trust. Temporary opportunities. Temporary communities. Pieces of love. Loads of letting go.

This can take a toll on a human mind. The heart can close off. The body resigning to apathy. We settle. We stop believing in dreams. Inspiration stops knocking on the door. At least that’s what it can feel like. What is actually happening is that we have closed off to inspiration. Ideas that can ignite us are always available to us, but we can’t see them or feel them when we are numb.

The way back to ignition is simple – open up your body, relax and breathe, and allow all emotions to flow. They will circulate, and then, from clarity, you will start to see. This is also challenging. We have learnt that we will be disappointed. We don’t want to experience that again.

The way forward is radical honesty of why it didn’t work last time. It is knowing that you can either do, feel, or be treated better. You may not have experienced that yet. It is still available to you.

You can build something sustainable from the inside of you. You can treat yourself and your mission the way you want it to be treated by life itself. You can be the spokesperson for your project through your actions. You can feel what you need and give that to yourself.

Just do that, and let the mirror react. It will, in time.
